    3. Although the following maps will not help for the 'old' boundaries, I find that I can not get along with out them. I have a Rand McNally map that I keep by my computer. It is one of those big ones that we use when we travel. I bought it at Wal-Mart for about $4.00. I think one of those fold up maps of Indiana would be good. I have relatives who live in Indiana and could see that you get a fold up map for cost and shipping. Probably less than $4.00. Also, some the LDS family centers might have a copy of what you want or be able to locate a source for you to obtain your own. 2. Well, cuz, Most of that information came from a book entitled, The Learned Family, which I stumbled onto many, many years ago, in the home of Myrtle Learned in Dahlgren, Illinois, She was a cousin of my grandfather Brookins, whose mother was Ann Learned. Myrtle Learned was the dau. of Edwin H. Learned, brother to your Daniel Nelson Learned, who, at the time the book was written, resided in Spring Garden, Illinois; and also brother to Ann Learned, who married John Brookins The title page of the book (which is hard-back, about 7"x9", and about 2"thick), reads thusly: THE LEARNED FAMILY (Learned, Larned, Learnard, Larnard, and Larned) BEING DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM LEARNED WHO WAS AT CHARLESTOWN, MASSACHUSETTS IN 1632 COMPILED BY WILLIAM LAW LEARNED IN PART FROM THE PAPERS OF THE LATE JOSEPH GAY EATON LARNED _____________ SECOND EDITION ENLARGED ALBANY WEED=PARSONS PRINTING COMPANY 1898 I have since acquired a copy of this book, also many years ago, from Goodspeed's Book Shop in Boston, Massachusetts. I don't know if they're still in business. Maybe you can find a copy somewhere. Cookie, in Florida

    3. On a recent trip I found a small outta the way cemetery called Johnson -2 Cemetery, I added that online that earlier this week.I now have some of the completed dates and will update it. It was originally called Kella K Johnson Cemetery. But I did also find mention on 2 other extremely small cemeteries also names Johnson in the same area as Kella K 's. One is Jacob Johnson Cemetery the other just plain Johnson Cemetery Names included are Warren/Tennyson/Williams/Wright/Youngblood and of course Johnson. One of the Johnson's burial date is in 1799. So I would be happy to send you those names and dates if you are interested in any of the Johnson Cemeteries.. 1. [INWARRIC] Va, Am. Legion, Cifil War Question
    2. paul traylor
    3. Good Morning, I have a question about what is a proper dedication burial ceremony for a Civil War Veteran. Could someone that is an active VA, American Legion or Civil War Reenactment answer the following question: I located the grave of my GGrandfather at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, Indiana. There was no grave marker. I obtained a form VA 40-1330 from the VA office in DC requesting a maker. It will arrive in a few months. My question is, since there was no maker of any kind, and no indication that there was ever any recognition of his patronage in the Civil War is there a ceremony or service that is appropriate when the maker is in place. I would appreciate a response, Kind Regards, Paul Traylor Milwaukee, Wisconsin

    3. The Phillipses' cemetery books are also available on microfilm from the Family History Library. Not only did these folks transcribe records, they also included photocopies of original newspaper obituaries and margin notes when they had this information. I've been the extremely fortunate recipient of a few obituaries and margin notes pertaining to the PYEATT family in Warrick Co. What a gem this couple was! Nancy Maxwell [email protected]
