Mrs. Maude Slayback Mrs. Maude (Brand) Slayback, 71, of Glendale, Calif., formerly of Dayton and Lafayette, died Thursday in a hospital there. She had been will with the influenza but had been in failing health for over a year with a heart condition. Born near Dayton, she lived there and in Lafayette before going to California in 1934 and was the widow of Raymond Slayback who died in 1924. She was employed here by the former Lafayette Granite Co. She was a member of the Dayton Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Nelson B. Slayback of LaCrescenta, Calif. and a sister, Mrs. Alberta Royer of Lafayette.
