WESTLAKE -- James Westlake was born in Franklin County, Pa., about Oct 28, 1786, and died March 5, 1869, Stockwell, Indiana. He enlisted at Belmont County, Ohio, September 1, 1813. He guarded captured fleet on Lake Erie, and served 7 months under General C. Samuels, in War of 1812. He was a pioneer about the year 1838, of Lauramie Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, locating on the land later owned by George Wells, who was his son-in-law, and at the time of his death he had 500 acres. He was a member of the Methodist church. He is buried at BARCUS CEMETERY near Stockwell, Indiana.
