William JONES came to Indiana in 1815 first settling in Wayne County. In 1824 he removed to Tippecanoe County, settling in what is known as the "Wea Plains." He was elected an associate judge in the county's first election in 1826, but died shortly after (32). It is unknown where he is buried, but some think he was probably buried on the family farm. William married Elizabeth JARRETT, daughter of James JARRETT and Elizabeth GRIFFEY, about 1803 in Virginia.
