Thanks again! No Carr's there, but I did find a James Carr in the index for History of Clinton Co., but the contact email address doesn't work anymore. Someone else who also first said they thought it said Clinton Co., told me they have decided that what it really says is Fulton Co. I am looking both places. I know that her mother was in Fulton Co. in 1880. If you still have access to the image, see what you think. I did think the first letter was a T or F because of the line across the top of it. Again, thank you so much. I really appreciate all the information you are providing. Hopefully, one of your suggestions will eventually result in me finding Mary's birth record and James and Maggie's marriage.
