Hi, Scott, Did you get any replies re Jones and the Jones Hotel in Lafayette? I've been watching but noticed none to the list. My Grx3 grandmother, Nancy Miller Blakely, had a sister Eliza Jane Miller who married Elihu Jones 11 Sept 1861. Elihu went off to the Civil War and was never the same, mentally, after that. She applied officially to be a caretaker for the mentally impaired (saw this in court records, figured it was referring to her husband). Elihu had family there in Tippecanoe County, and Eliza Jones was living in Lafayette long after Elihu passed away. In fact, in 1910, she gave an affidavit on behalf of her sister Nancy who was applying for a widow's pension on the basis of HER husband's Civil War record. Jones is a pretty common name, but I thought there might be a connection. Marilyn Carlson
