Durgan, age 82, died Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock at his residence, 2316 Hendricks street, following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Durgan was born at West Point, Ind., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lear Durgan. He moved to Anderson from West Point, fifty years ago. His wife, Mrs. Fannie Mae Durgan, died in 1944. Funeral services will be conducted at the Brown and Eckenberg funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. W.A. Fleenor, past of the South Anderson Church of God, in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Friends will be received after noon tomorrow at the funeral home. Surviving are four sons, Dale Durgan, Chicago; James Durgan, Jr., Sacramento, Calif.; Charles Durgan and Claude Durgan, both of Anderson; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Hancock, Mrs. Mary Anderson and Mrs. Ruth Haines, all of Anderson; sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Note: James Durgan was the son of Edward Durgan and Leah Jones.
