He was reared to agricultural pursuits, remaining on the home farm until twenty-two years of age. He then went to Benton County, and was a resident of that county for about sixteen years. In 1879 he settled on the farm where he has since made his home, which is one of the best to be found in Washington Township. His farm consists of 337 acres of choice land, where he has a fine residence, and beautiful home. MR. STANFIELD has been three times married, taking for his first wife MISS HONORA DAWSON, and the children born to this union are named--SARAH, BUENA VISTA, JOHN J., FRANCIS M., and WILLIAM S. He was a second time married to MRS. MELINA FERGUSON, whose maiden name was CLEVINGER, and to this union were born two children--BELLE and SAMUEL B. His present wife was formerly MRS. MARY BROWN. In his political views MR. STANFIELD is a Republican. CARNER STANFIELD, the ninth child of JOHN STANFIELD, was born at the old homestead in Washington Township, in January, 1835. He married MISS SIDNEY WILSON, and they now reside in Benton County. They are the parents of four children named--MARY C., SARAH, JOHN and EFFAL.
