I am Desperately trying to find info on my ancestors. I do not even know if they were from this county, but I am posting messages everywhere. Here is what I have: My grandmother was born in Indiana (per the 1920 Illinois census). It states that her Father was born in Indiana and her mother as being born in the U.S. Well, from info given to me by my dad before he passed away and recently my mom, my grandmother (my dad's mother) belonged to the Shawnee tribe on her mother's side. Her name was one of the following: Adie Celestia, Adelaid Celestia, Adie Selestia, Adelaid Selestia, last name was Butler. She married Bert Crooks from Danville, Illinois and they had six children. Her and Bert were married until his death in 1935. Throughout that time they both resided in Danville I know that my grandmother's (Adie) mother was the Native American and would love to know more info if anybody has any.
