Hi Folks, I married a girl back in 1963 in Bradenton, FL whose maiden name was Mary Lou Campbell. Her parents were Henry Lewis Campbell b. 1904 in Kissimmee, Osceola Co., FL and Mary Elizabeth Rice b. 1908 in Washington Courthouse, Fayette Co., OH. My wife's grandmother was Jennie Campbell b. Gallipolis, OH (not related to my wife's father H. L. Campbell) who married George Merrill Rice, Sr. b. 1884 in Wilksville, Vinton Co., OH. Jennie Campbell's parents were Samuel M. Campbell and Mary Birch. Mary Birch was the 2nd wife of Samuel M. Campbell, his first wife being Margaret Eliza Hill. Samuel Campbell and Mary Birch were m. Nov. 14, 1882 in Battle Ground, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. Jennie Campbell was their only child. When Jennie Campbell Rice died (at the time she was living in Bradenton, FL) she left some newspaper clippings with her things which I gathered up before they were thrown out. I asked my wife about some of these people, but she had no idea who some of these people were. She had never been active in genealogy, so I took up this crusade of her family and ancestors. Feb. 19, 1830 Saratoga Co., NY, died Battle Ground, IN (no death date, but quite a lengthy obit) (3) William S. Scott (my wife's 1st cousin twice rem.) b. 1837 Wellesville, OH, died Dec. 23, 1920 Battle Ground, IN (4) Lydia Jane Campbell (my wife's ggrandaunt)(Lydia is dau. of Elisha & Mary Campbell) b. July 16, 1842 Gallia Co., OH, died Feb. 16, 1925 Taylorville, IN. (5) John Wolfer (husband of my wife's 2nd ggrandaunt Elizabeth Pattison) b. July 27, 1810 Germany, died Aug. 27, 1893, Battle Ground, IN (6) Sylvester E. Birch, (my wife's ggranduncle) b. 1834 Fountain Co., IN, died Battle Ground, IN (no death date) (7) Carey B. Birch (my wife's 1st cousin twice rem.) b. Dec. 19, 1860, d. murdered in Chicago, IL (8) Mrs. Mary C. Roberts (don't know the relation if any; widow of Wm. H. Roberts) b. Feb.19, 1844 Chillicothe, OH, died ? Battle Ground, IN. (9) Charles H. McCormick (don't know the relation if any) b. ? Green Twnshp., Gallia Co., OH, d. Jan. 2, 1917 Green Twnshp., Gallia Co., OH (10) Rev. John W. McCormick (don't know the relation if any) b. c.1832, d. June 25, 1917 near Gallipolis, Gallia Co., OH. (11) Rev. Abram Viele (my wife's 1st cousin 3 times rem., and there are no dates given) was age 88 yrs. 14 days. (12) Clement W. Cherrington (don't know the relation if any) b. ?, died June 15, 1923 his home in Alice, Gallia Co., OH. (was this man related to John Cherrington who married Margaret Campbell?) (13) Mrs. Sallie Hill widow of Wiley Hill (don't know the relation if any) b. ?, died ? at the home of her dau. Mrs. J. G. Damron, Jr. (was Wiley Hill related to the first wife of Samuel M. Campbell, Margaret Eliza Hill?) (14) John C. Klepinger (don't know the relation if any) b. Oct. 13, 1835 White Co., d. Battle Ground, IN.(John Klepinger's parents were, if I am correct, Jacob Klepinger and Mary Campbell. I wonder if this Mary Campbell may be related to my wife. Jacob and Mary were married Aug. 18, 1831 Fountain Co., Indiana.) (15) Judith Ann Viele Marshall (my wife's 1st cousin 3 times rem.& wife of late John Marshall) b. ?., d. Dec. 22, ? Schuylerville, Saratoga Springs. (Is this NY?) (16) John W. Ecker (don't know the relation if any) b. ?, died ? Gallipolis, OH. Wedding: Homer Long & Mary Frances Scott (Mary is my wife's 1st cousin twice rem.) both of Taylorville, IN May 15, 1895. A nice writeup for this wedding. Among some of the photos my wife has is a sepia colored photo measuring 7-1/2"x4-3/4" of a 1-1/2 story Victorian style house in California. Someone has written the name "Springfield Cottage, 718 West 3rd St., Pamona, CA. Feb. 10, 1898." Does this ring a bell with anyone? Did any of your relatives live in Pamona, CA? It also has 3 women in front with a small boy sitting on the steps with his dog.
