He preferred to be called Guy. An old envelope addressed to Wm Guy Roseberry from the National Education Association in Washington, D.C. believed to be postmarked in 1954 was recently found by the family among old storage boxes in Madison County Illinois. It was addressed to him at Wabash Valley Sanitarium, Lafayette, Indiana. This indicates that Guy was living in Lafayette, Indiana in 1954 at the age of 80. At that age Guy may have been dealing with senility. The family believes that he probably remained there for the rest of his life. > > The obituary of his brother Clarence J. Roseberry who died in Illinois in December of 1954 stated that besides his widow, he leaves a brother, Guy, and a sister, Mrs. Julia Davis, both of LaFayette Indiana. The death index of the LAFAYETTE JOURNAL AND COURIER NEWSPAPER INDEX, 1902-1952 stops short by two years of his probable death after 1954. The Tippecanoe, County Lafayette Health Department requires an exact date of death before they can search for his obituary. > > Guy disappeared and was last known to be in Wilmington Delaware in the 1920 Census and was also known to be living there according to an obituary of his father in 1925. This clue of his presence in Lafayette, Indiana was the first clue we have had to his probable place of death in Lafayette. He was an Educator and an avid Genealogy Researcher of the Rosebery/Roseberry surname. > > Trying to run these clues down long distance is very difficult. If anyone in Lafayette or someone connected with the LAFAYETTE COUNTY HOSPITAL or the local newspaper could make some inquiries as to his time and place of death and locate an obituary the family would be very grateful. > > Robert F.
