Mr. Thompson was one of the oldest residents of Tippecanoe County and had been in feeble health for several years. His death is attributed to the infirmities of age. He married Amanda Curry, December 25, 1848, and eleven children were born to them, seven of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Adelia Lesh, Mrs. Belle Moore, Mrs. Jessie Burton, Evard, Marcus, Alfred and Cortland Thompson. Mr. Thompson served during the civil war as a member of Company D, Seventy-second Indiana volunteer infantry and also in the 150th Indiana regiment and had a creditable record as a soldier. The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Lafayette (Ind.) Sunday Times, March 17, 1907
