Not related, just trying to help. Found a family tree whcih has info about them. A lot about the Pattisons but not much about her family. Would suggest you contact Laura Thomassen whose address is allaura5@msn.com. She states that they were married in Tippecanoe county on 26 Jan 1844, but a check of the on-line records at Ancestry.com and also the Indiana State Library was unable to confirm this. Good luck. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Hi.2ADI/2622.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi Again Mary A Family member visited the Crown Hill Cemetery last week and was told that William G. Roseberry was not buried there. To be sure about this,he was asked if there was any possibility that Guy was buried there and just not on the computer. He said that everyone was included so it was impossible for Guy to be buried there. I sent them the following email today: Dear Sirs: William Guy Roseberry age 83 died Oct 06, 1957 Tippecanoe County, Ind. death record in book S 32 number 114. It states he is buried at Crown Hill cemetery in Indianapolis, Ind. Last week a family member visited your Cemetery and she emailed me about her visit. She states, " I went to Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis and talked with the people there. The ONLY Roseberrys buried there are Samuel and his wife, Anna. The man was very nice and even tried calling other cemeteries in the area, but he was unable to find where Guy was buried. He said that most cemeteries are going online to keep up with trends. He suggested that we get a list of cemeteries in the area and start checking them online or by telephone. He was unable to reach New Crown Hill Cemetery which is another possibility. To be sure about this, I asked him if there was any possibility that Guy was buried there and just not on the computer. He showed me his computer screen and went through almost all the “R” listings. He said that everyone was included so it was impossible for Guy to be buried there." Based upon the information contained above in the first sentence, it appears that it is very likely that William Guy is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery. I am wondering if whoever was responsible for entering data into your computer system may have accidentally ommitted his burial from your data base. His death was about 6 months after you opened the 38th Street addition in April of 1957 according to your web site. I assume that the "New" Crown Hill Cemetery the gentleman referred to is the 38th Street addition. The family would really appreciate it if you would make another attempt to search your paper records to see if Guy's burial was not entered into your computer records. Sincerely, Robert F. Roseberry The Cemetery replied: Your E-Mail regarding William G. Roseberry was forwarded to me today. I have searched for his interment by name as well as date. I didn't find him listed in any of our records. I also called New Crown Cemetery, which is not affiliated with Crown Hill Cemetery, located off of Raymond Street in Indianapolis, they didn't have anyone buried there with that name. I would suggest that you go back to Tippecanoe County and find out what Funeral Home handled his services and go from there. They should have record of where he was buried. You may also want to try getting a death certificate or an obituary. For a death certificate you can contact the Indiana State Department of Health (317) 233-2700. To obtain an obituary call the Indiana State Library (317) 232-3664. Sorry we couldn't be of more help. Sincerely, Melissa O'Brien Customer Service Manager Crown Hill Cemetery I hate to impose upon you, but I would like to know the source of your information. Do you have any idea of which Funeral Home in Lafayette handled the arrangements for his burial? Bob

Indiana, in case it might be helpful to someone researching his family. From "The Roanoke Leader", Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama newspaper Newspaper Issue of Wednesday, September 19, 1917 OTHER STATE NEWS MAN MAKES HIS OWN COFFIN IN LAFAYETTE, INDIANA Lafayette, Indiana - - - - William Watkins, age fifty years, for many years the proprietor of a sawmill at Kentland, learned a few months ago that he could not live long. He proceeded to build a coffin for himself, using solid black walnut. He spent weeks making it. When completed it weighed more than 700 pounds. Mr. Watkins was brought to St. Elizabeth's hospital and recently he died. The coffin was shipped from Kentland and his body had been placed in it. He was buried at Delphi, his former home. The weight of the coffin made it necessary to use a large force of men to lift it on and off the train. Mr. Watkins' widow and four children survive him. --------

I am Desperately trying to find info on my ancestors. I do not even know if they were from this county, but I am posting messages everywhere. Here is what I have: My grandmother was born in Indiana (per the 1920 Illinois census). It states that her Father was born in Indiana and her mother as being born in the U.S. Well, from info given to me by my dad before he passed away and recently my mom, my grandmother (my dad's mother) belonged to the Shawnee tribe on her mother's side. Her name was one of the following: Adie Celestia, Adelaid Celestia, Adie Selestia, Adelaid Selestia, last name was Butler. She married Bert Crooks from Danville, Illinois and they had six children. Her and Bert were married until his death in 1935. Throughout that time they both resided in Danville I know that my grandmother's (Adie) mother was the Native American and would love to know more info if anybody has any. Please respond if you have info. Thank you, Patricia
