It would be great if you have the time to look in directories for William Leinster. He seperated from the family when his boys were young and disappeared.William probably married Elizabeth Corcoran in Ireland and then followed Williams sister Maggie to Indiana. They were living there at least in 1900/1901 as Joseph was born there April 24,1900 and George -b May 23,1901 in Lafayette. Joseph ended back at the homestead in Baileborough,Cavan County Ireland . His grandson lives there and I have corresponded with him and another relative in Scotland for some time. They will be excited to hear about you. We are not sure about my connection but have been working together to establish this. My people descend from from a James Leinster and Anna Fairfield circa 1830 Bailiborough. Surnames: Wiggins, Ilgenfritz, Lansing, Parnell, Arman, Garrison, Laws, Bartlett, Morehouse Catherwood Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Hi.2ADI/1705 Message Board Post: Lafayette Journal and Courier, Friday Evening, April 22, 1927 Falls Forty Feet to Death From Old Church Structure Charles Wiggins, 52, Meets Tragic Fate at Building Opposite High School When Rafter Gives Way and He Breaks Neck on Stone Below. Charles Wiggins, 52 years old, was instantly killed shortly before 1 o'clock Friday afternoon when he fell 40 feet from the roof rafters of the old building at the southeast corner of Ninth and Cincinnati streets and landed on a stone foundation cross wall. His neck was broken, also both of his legs. The building was formerly the Ninth Street M. E. church, but for many years has been used as a storage house, and is being torn down to clear off the site of the proposed addition to Jefferson high school. R. W. Lansing of Battle Ground bought the old structure and is salvaging it. Wiggins was working for Lansing. Falls With Rafter With them on the job, was John Parnell, of Frankfort. Lansing was climbing out on the rafters and was there just in time to see Wiggins drop into space. Parnell was outside the building and did not witness the tragic accident. The alarm was sounded and Captain Charles Arman and Patrolman Joseph Garrison of the police force responded with the police ambulance. Coroner Harry J. Laws ordered the body taken to the Soller funeral parlors. Wiggins had been working for Lansing only a few days. The men ate dinner together and were starting to work. It is thought that Wiggins crawled out to the end of the rafter to knock a board loose when the rafter fell with him. Life-Long Resident He had spent his entire life in Lafayette and was at one time engaged with John Catherwood, in the gravel business on the North River road. More recently Wiggins had been employed as a laborer. He was a member of Tippecanoe Camp No. 17, Woodmen of the World, and served as clerk of the camp. He was married to Alma Ilgenfritz, who survives, together with a son, Sherman Wiggins. The family lives at 1029 North Sixth street, and Mrs. Wiggins and her son were on their way to Remington when the accident occurred. Surviving also are two brothers, Chris Wiggins, of Lafayette, and Thomas Wiggins of Melott, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Morehouse. Funeral of Accident Victim Will Be Held Sunday, Grace Church The body of Charles Wiggins, who was instantly killed Friday afternoon when he fell from the rafters of the old Ninth Street M. E. church, which is being razed, was removed to the home, 1029 North Sixth street, Friday evening. Funeral services will be conducted from Grace U. R. church, of which he was a member, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial in the Hebron cemetery. Besides the relatives, previously mentioned, Mr. Wiggins is survived by a sister Mrs. William Bartlett, of Badger Grove. He was born February 5, 1872, at Oxford, Ind.

Wiggins Found Dead in Bed This Morning Mrs. Polly Wiggins, the wife of Isaac B. Wiggins, the well known framer living west of the city, was found dead in her bed this morning. Mrs. Wiggins who is upwards of 60 year os age, retired at the usual hour last night, apparently in the best of health and spirits. When the family got up this morning, she was called and receiving no response, her door was opened and she was found lying in her bed cold in death. There was no sign of struggle and death evidently came quietly and painlessly. She was not known to be subject to any disease. Her death will cause a vacancy in the neighborhood, which cannot at present be readily appreciated or understood. She was a kind neighbor indefatigable in her care of the sick and kind-hearted. The funeral takes place tomorrow at 10 o'clock. The deceased was an aunt of Chief of Police Chris M. Nisley.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Hi.2ADI/1697 Message Board Post: This could get confusing, so please bear with me! My GGGrandfather George Schriner/Schreiner was born in 1828 in Allegheny Co, PA. He was married abt. 1851 to a Litecia/ Leticia Dimmit/Dimit (?) who was born abt. 1828 in Allegheny, PA. They came to White Co., IN between 1854-1856. They had 4 children George, b. 1854 PA, Lavina, b. 1856 IN, Samuel, b. 1858 IN, John, 1860-61 IN. They are shown living in Jackson Twp., White Co. in the 1860 census. After 1860 Litecia disappears, and George is found remarried to a Nancy Brockus on Dec. 7, 1865 in White Co. They are shown in the 1870 Census living in Jackson Twp., White Co. with 2 children Sarah Brockus, b. 1856 and Elias W. Brockus, b. 1858. George's children were living with other families in White Co., Samuel was with the John York family, living next door to George and Nancy, and John was living with the Peter Carnahan family. I'm pretty sure this Nancy Brockus was married to an Elias Brockus. Elias died about 1859, as he does not appear in the 1860 Census with Nancy and the children. However, Nancy is living next door to a William Brockus. Is this Brockus family related to Sophia Dimmit and John Brockus? If so, does anyone have any information on a Litecia/ Leticia Dimmit marrying a Schriner/ Schreiner? Any help would be helpful, as you can clearly see...I'm confused by this great big mess! Thank you in advance...and feel free to contact me personally at [email protected]
