Jeanne, I'm chiming in a bit late on this conversation, but I am very interested in Bausmans in Tippecanoe. I find Susan's suggestion that Henry and George are brothers quite plausible, but have no additional supporting data to offer on that premise. I have information both on the Henry Bausman family you posted, as well as on the John -> George line, all of which I would be willing to share, if you are interested. Here's a high level view of what I have on the Henry Bausman family (prior to entering anything new/different from your post): 1-- Henry BAUSMAN (14709) ( / /1817 - / /1898) sp-Elizabeth MCKEE (14708) ( / /1833 - / /1902) 2-- John BAUSMAN (25571) ( / /1853 - / / ) 2-- Mary BAUSMAN (24370) ( / /1855 - / / ) sp-BAER (24371) ( / / - / / ) 2-- David BAUSMAN (14707) ( / /1857 - 5/28/1933) 2-- Sarah BAUSMAN (24372) ( / /1860 - / / ) sp-CONRAD (24373) ( / / - / / ) 2-- Martha BAUSMAN (24374) ( / /1862 - / / ) sp-COX (24375) ( / / - / / ) 2-- Jennie BAUSMAN (25572) ( / /1865 - / / ) 2-- Samuel BAUSMAN (14715) ( / /1868 - 12/28/1910) 2-- James Edward BAUSMAN (14712) (9/7/1870 - 9/4/1943) 2-- Alice Dora BAUSMAN (21760) (2/24/1874 - 7/15/1962) Let me know if you want what I have on the John -> George line. The reason I am interested in them is that the John -> George line may eventually help me remove a brick wall in my Mitman line, as George married Catherine (Mitman), whom I believe to be the sister of my Jacob Mitman (1821-1864) - my Mitman brick wall. Jeanne, you might try Butler County, OH. My family and several families they were aligned with went from Lancaster County, PA to Butler County, OH to Tippecanoe and Clinton Counties, IN. The only difference is that my family ended up on the other end of the county from West Point. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeanne Crews" <jeanne_crews@yahoo.com> To: INTIPPEC-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [INTIPPEC] Henry Bausman family 1880 census Date: Thu, 30 Jun 2005 10:32:52 -0700 (PDT) > > I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this family. They had three children; Vincent, Lois and Elma, all born between 1912 and 1921. Elmer was a city fireman. These families lived in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, IN, up through the 1930 Census. I am interested in a house that used to be in Perry twp, Sec 28, along CR 775 E on the west side of the road. This land (40 acres) was owned by Catherine BARR from 1850 to her death in 1866, then was in a lifetime trust for her husband, Abraham Barr, until he died in 1873. On a map from about 1900, it is marked C. LENTZ. In maps from 1850 to 1900 there is a house site marked, considerably back from the road toward the southern end of the land, although I'm not sure this is the same house showing on earlier maps. After that in 1941 and 1949 the land is owned by Wm BRATZ; these maps don't identify houses, so I can't tell where the house was then. he sold it off in small pieces until in 1975 he owned only 9 acres. Other pieces in 1975 were owned by R and L FELDT (14 acres, with a house) and a strip along the road divided into small plots, according to the plat map. Driving along there today I see several small lots with house built in the 1960s and a number of larger homes being built today. I seem to remember an old house on that land, but I'm not sure it is in the right position to have been the house showing on the earlier maps. It was either thoroughly remodeled or torn down in the 60s, when the houses were built along the road then. This area is south of Monitor, which is on SR 26. CR 775 goes south out of Montor and turns right at the southern end of the old Barr property, goes east a short distance, then turns again and changes number to 800. It continues south to Haggarty lane (200S). I believe I have located (with help) a picture of the house Catherine and Abraham left in Lancaster Co when they came here in 1836. Would like to see what sort of house they built when the settled here. Thanks, Susan

Is anyone researching the Coffman / Trimmer families of Shelby Township? I'm looking for information on the following families: Malinda Jane TRIMMER was born in Jan 1838 in Tippecanoe Co., IN, died on 17 Aug 1914 in Tippecanoe Co., IN, at age 76, and was buried in Montmorenci Cemetery, Tippecanoe Co., IN. Marietta TRIMMER was born in Jan 1841 in Tippecanoe Co., IN and died after 1910, possibly in Benton Co., IN. Marietta married William H. COFFMAN on 22 Dec 1853 in Tippecanoe Co., IN. William was born about 1836 in Indiana. (Source of birth date is the 1900 census; they are also in the 1910 census in Benton Co., IN, but are not found in 1920.) I'm really stuck on this one; Talitha was a daughter of my ancestor Carmi Jones. The Trimmer girls were half-sisters of Talitha's, and stepdaughters of Carmi Jones. Their parents were Mahala Dougherty and Reuben Trimmer. Talitha Quini JONES was born about 1851 and died on an unknown date. Note: The Tippecanoe Co., Indiana WPA Death Record index shows an unnamed female Coffman, aged 35, died on 25 Oct 1884 in Shelby Twp., Tippecanoe Co., IN.,.Could this possibly be Talitha? Talitha married James W. COFFMAN on 19 Jan 1871 in Tippecanoe Co., IN. Their known children were: Desia D. COFFMAN was born in Jul 1871 in Tippecanoe Co., IN, died on 3 Sep 1871 in Tippecanoe Co., IN, and was buried in Burton Cemetery, Tippecanoe Co., IN Harry J. There is a marriage record in Tippecanoe Co. for an Irene Freshour. Her birthdate is listed as Sept. 8, 1905. She was not listed in the Theodore Freshour household in 1910 so not sure if she is a sibling of Elizabeth's. Hope this info is helpful. Karen
