I am aware that, at least in the mid-1800s, there was a place in Ohio County, IN (the county north of Switzerland County) called Cole's Corner. My ancestors, William Van Buren Myers and Nancy Ann Dennis Myers were married there. The presiding minister was Henry Surber, who was WVB Myers' uncle/brother of WVB Myers' mother Barbara Surber Myers. Don't know much else about it, but the Cole name may connect, or might get others started on input for you that could be relevant.
