Does anyone have access to a Marriage Index or Cemetery Index? I'm attempting to verify a marriage for John Fisher b. abt 1849 to Sarah ?? b. abt 1849. Per the 1880 census, they had 2 children, Claude and Hattie, but after that, they disappear. I suspect they may have died and are buried in Quercus Grove Cemetery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, G. Swoik gds@springnet1.com

i looked up in 1930 census, when seeing it i remembered his middle initial was "o". paul o. turner, father oliver p., mother nellie, was born 1911, they were in connersville, fayette co., indiana in 1930. paul had a brother donald. all birth were indiana except oliver's father who was born in virginia. karen
phil, i grew up in fayette county (grandfather born switzerland co. for my link to there) and childhood neighbors in connersville was the paul turner family, wife mildred (?), children James, Thomas, Richard, Penelope and Michael. paul's parents lived in connersville but i don't remember for how long, name is on tip of my tongue........but can't recall it now, a sister Isabelle but i can't remember if she was sister to paul of mildred. penny was my best friend for many years, they moved to michigan and shortly after that i lost track of her. would love to find her again..... paul's son tom was a year older than me so probably born 1941. maybe this family connects. karen (in california) >or else west to Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio. > >Please let me know if you have any information that >you would like to add to this genealogy. > >Phil Turner
Hello all you Turner researchers, I have just uploaded an update to the "Turner-Parker Pedigree" GEDCOM file. If you are researching this family line, you may view it at: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=turnparker William Turner was born in Aberdeenshire around 1645. There is no birth nor baptismal record but, the Marischal College in Aberedeen documents that he enrolled there in 1656 and 1658. He moved first to Northern Ireland and later to Eastern Shore Maryland or Virginia. After the Revolutionary War ended, his descendants left the Eastern Shore and either went south to Georgia, where their neighbors labeled them "Chesapeakers", or else west to Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio. Please let me know if you have any information that you would like to add to this genealogy. Phil Turner __________________________________ Yahoo! Hi Karen, I thought I would just add that if you plan on visiting the cemetery, the time to go is in the spring. At this time of year it is really over grown with briar brush and the like. In the spring the snow has beat down all the over growth. Unfortunately I live on the west coast and I am unable to try to clean things up. Many of the county's pioneers are buried in this cemetery and I would love to see it cleaned up. This cemetery, which must have a connection to your family since it is named Cotton Cemetery, has several of my Cole family members buried in it. I visited it at the end of July 2001 and found it nearly impossible to see anything. If you would care to see my diary of the trip it is on the net at http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~holcomb/vevaydiary.htm Good luck with your search, Dave Holcomb ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark E. Hello to All, In September, I will be making my annual trip to the Black Powder Shoot in Friendship, Ripley County, Indiana I have a lot of ancestors in Switzerland, Ohio, and some small interest in Dearborn County. I usually visit cemeteries to take tombstone pictures and visit libraries & historical societies. If any one needs photos in these areas, let me know soon and I will try for you. I need specific information, not just, "Buried in Switzerland County" as example. Larry NOBLE Naples, Collier County Florida RAOGK Volunteer lnoble30@comcast.net

Joyce-- Several years ago (2001) I had some contact with Mary George 4209 River Bluff Drive Ft. Wayne IN 46835 (219) 485-2466 <George_10648@msn.com> She had quite a bit of information on the Tilley (my line) and Stucy (Stussi) families, including the family of Henry Stucy, born in Niederurnan, Canton Glarus in Switzerland in 1816. If this address is still good, I suspect she'd be willing to share what she has with you. --Phil Jones -----Original Message----- From: Joyce Truitt [mailto:joyce74@gibsoncounty.net] Sent: Saturday, April 16, 2005 8:57 AM To: INSWITZE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [INSWITZE] Looking for researcher... Paul, My gggGrandfather was Thomas Jefferson Pavey (Pavy) and he served in the 93rd Indiana Infantry during the Civil War. He lived in Craig Township. Hello list, I am trying to find out possible Civil War service information for three Switzerland County residents. When I do a search on the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System I get multiple hits for these names and do not know who to narrow the search down. Here are the names: William A. Graham, b. 1838, d. 1904 Hugh H. Lamb, b. 1840, d. 1922 James T. Nelson, b. 1827, d. 1864 (probably because of the war) Ultimately, I would like to be able to obtain their compiled service record, pension, and the pensions of their widows. Knowing what units Switzerland County residents joined would be very helpful. Is there anyone on the list who can help me? Thanks, Paul K. Graham
