    1. [INSTJOSE] Society news: Robertson and Ellsworth
    2. Thank you for posting society news from the South Bend Tribune from the era of the early 20th century. My grandfather, Robert Robertson, was a partner with Fred Ellsworth, in the largest department store in South Bend at that time, "Ellsworth's". There were 75 employees. He was very socially prominent, belonged to many civic organizations, and the store used to do an annual parade on Michigan Ave (I have photos). My grandmother was a founder of the Children's Aid Society, which handled the adoptions of orphans. I would love to see any society news about my grandparents or about the Ellsworth store. By the way, are there archives of the South Bend News-Times? This paper folded many years ago, but my mother worked on it as a high-school "cub reporter" in the late 1930s. Thanks in advance! --Bob Robertson **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home. 3. Hi Bob! Haven't heard from you in awhile! :-) Microfilm of the South Bend News-Times are housed at the St. Joseph Co. Public Library Downtown Branch. I'm hoping to get into those at some point in the future. Thanks for the additional information on Ellsworth's.
