As the mother of a South Bend Police Officer my thoughts and prayers also go out to the family, friends and fellow Officers of Scott Severns. The tears have flowed freely this week not only for the Severn family but also for all of his fellow officers. My greatest joy is knowing that Scott, my son and all of the South Bend Police Officer's have willingly dedicated their lives to the protection of their community at the risk of their own lives.
