From Rick B Thursday, February 9, 2006 "The South Bend Weekly Tribune", Saturday, October 2, 1897, page 5 Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Adams pleasantly entertained a small company of friends Friday evening. The slight-of-hand performances by Mr. Adams furnished splendid amusement for the guests. Other features were indulged in. The Central Cycling club enjoyed a run of about an hour about the city Tuesday night after which they were entertained by the Misses Summers, of Laporte avenue. Games occupied the evening and light refreshments were served. A very enjoyable company was given at the home of Miss Laura Heinzman on Saturday evening, about 30 being present. Pedro and other games were the features of the evening and musical numbers were given by the Straub Bros.
