Submitted by Georgia Gill-Elkins South Bend Tribune Tuesday, April 29,1980 Mrs Helen Zielinski Sept 13, 1891- April 29, 1980 Mrs. Helen Zielinski, 88, of the Carlyle Nursing Home, died at 1:12 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital after a lengthy illness. She had retired in 1954 from the Uniroyal Corp., where she had worked for 25 years as an inspector. She had also worked as a self-employed seamstress. Bron on Sept 13, 1891, in South Bend, she had lived here all her life. In 1910, as Helen Kwestorowski, she married Stanley Zielinski, who died in 1953. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Michael (Clara) Vaszari of South Bend, and Mrs. Roy (Estelle) Miller of Golden Lake, Ind: two sons Victor of South Bend and Alex of Temple City, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and four sisters. Mrs Bernice Zielinski, Mrs. Harriet Andrezjak, MRs. Angela Kopczynski and Mrs. Lillian Winnicki, all of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursady in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Rev. Gray, 99, formerly of 1114 Duey, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday in the Northwood Nursing Home after a one year illness. He was a former construction worker. Born on Nov. 26, 1880, in Kosciusko, Miss., he had lived in South Bend for 34 years after coming from Blythville, Ark. He is survived by five daughters, Miss Alma Gray and Mrs. Velma Williams, both of Benton Harbor, Mrs. Valie Booker of Chicago, Mrs. Lue Ella Mason of Kenneth, Mo., and Mrs. Hattie Miller of South Bend; three sons Oren and Otis Gray of Benton Harbor, and Sgt. Eddie Gray, with the US Air Force, stationed in Dayton, Ohio; we grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Henry L. Giden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 5 t0 9 p.m. Friday in Clark's Funeral Chapel. Submitted by Georgia Gill-Elkins South Bend Tribune Tuesday, April 29, 1980 Mrs. Burnis Kesler Overmyer Mrs. Burnis Kesler Overmyer, 82, died Monday in St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights. She was born on Feb. 27, 1898, in Fulton County, and lived in the South Bend area most of her life. Her first husband, Garland D. Kesler, died in 1956. In 1968 she married Kenneth A. Overmyer. He survives with three daughters, Mrs. Jetta Love of Bryan, Texas, Mrs. Frances Nemeth and Mrs. Donnabelle Goodspeed, both of South Bend; a son, Kenton R. Overmyer, of Chicago Height; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lottie Dilts of Highland, Ind. Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday in the St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Homewood, Ill. Rev H. D. Mitchell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Moon Cemetery, DeLong, Ind, where graveside services will take place at 2 p.m. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today in the Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hew. Szalay, 49, of 2010 Morris, died at 12:35 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was employed by the AM General Corp. Born on Sept. 29, 1930, in South Bend, she had lived here all her life. On Nov. 26, 1959, in South Bend, as Michelle Dulcet, she married Michael R. Szalay, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Janiszewski and Mrs. Isabel Lopez, both of South Bend, and five brothers, Zigmund, Alfphonse and Raymond Dulcet, all of South Bend, James Dulcet of Crumstown and Edward Dulcet of Michigan City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic church. Msgr John Sabo, pastor, will officiate. Badur, 50, of 2416 Prast Blvd. died early Sunday in the Imperial House Hotel, Las Vegas, Nev., where she was vacationing after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was an employee of the Bendix Corp. for 25 years. Born on April 3, 1930, in South Bend, she had lived here all her life. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. May Goralski of South Bend; a sister Mrs. Phyllis Csenar of South Bend, and two brothers, Eugene of Chicago and Richard A. of Wood, Wis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev Casimir Grabarz, C.S.C., will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
