In Memory of Charles Irvin "Ichabod" Kring, who gave his life under Japanese fire, on Luzon, Philippine Islands. He was born in South Bend, on May 11, 1918, the son of Arthur James and Addie Rough Kring. He was in the 8th Army, engaged in the mop-up phase of operations on Luzon. He died on June 20, 1945. He is buried in the Riverview Cemetery.
