Hi Antoinette, Sorry I didn't answer this earlier but I have been at home ill. My name is Amy Derrickson and I have traced most of the Derrickson's in Shelby county. I don't think your relative is from this county. Two or three major groups of Derrickson's came out of the east coast in the early 1800's. Mine went to Shelby county. Yours I believe came out of Delaware and settled in northern, IN and OH. Please take a look at my site and maybe we can make a connection a little further back than your folks.
