In the 1900 census for Shelby county, Hanover township, Dist 110, sheet 2A or page 3, there was a family headed by Alexander West, 44, born Sep 1855, married 13 years, a laborer in a saw mill, born in Ind and both parents in Ky. Included in the family were his wife Samantha, 38, Mar 1862, married 13 years, mother of 5 of which 4 were still living, born in Ind and both parents in Ohio, - his daughter Annie (your Anna?), 13, May 1887, Ind, at school, - his daughter Nellie, 11, Jul 1888, Ind, at school, - his daughter Lavina, 8, Sep 1891, Ind, at school, - his son Scott, 5, May 1895, Ind, and his mother-in-law Ann Gard, 76, Feb 1824, widowed, mother of 9 of which 6 were still living, born in Ohio as were both parents. Alexander West married Samantha Gard in Shelby county on 22 May 1886, source is book 13, page 44. Hope this helps. Don

    3. Mariah, I think Don is on the right track. I posted the WEST births on the website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~inshelby/birth_records/births_W_wpa.htm I didn't find Samantha, Walter or Prudence listed in the county burials. Perhaps they are buried in Arlington Cem in Rush Co (close to Gwynneville). I'll check again for Alexander's burial.
