    2. Jill, you are quite welcome. Sometimes you have to be creative when searching for surnames in the early census records. Most of the census takers could barely write or spell. They just wrote what they heard or how they thought it should be spelled. Sometimes they talked to a child or neighbor and received wrong information. The thing that drives me crazy is the place of birth. Sometimes they asked where are you from and not where were you born. Can be a BIG difference. <smile> Glad I could help. Ma
