I couldn't resist the opportunity to speak up on this topic. I know of an antique table called a funeral table that would have been used in a home. It's in 2 parts, each with it's own set of 4 legs. Leaves can be added to expand for the length of a casket. When not in use, the parts can be set up as sidetables or put together as one dining table. It's a couple inches lower than normal so has to be used with low chairs. Makes for great dinner conversation esp. if you don't want your guests to stay long.
