Dear Linda, After long pondering and searching I have been trying to tie Abraham Hill husband of Sarah (Hawkins) Chesser with my Hill line. My question is on Alexander, William in Iowa, Isaac and Thomas Hill you mention in your note: Are they related to Abraham Hill and how? Who would have been their mother? Do you have dates of birth? Thank You, Kimbra Hill Smith -----Original Message----- From: Linda Chesser [mailto:lchesser4@insightbb.com] Sent: Monday, May 30, 2005 6:28 PM To: INSHELBY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [INSHELBY] WHEELER vs WILLIAMS & WHITE I was astonished to see Abraham Hill's estate mentioned in the civil suit below. He was the stepfather of James Chesser, my husband's second great-grandfather who came to Shelby Co. IN in 1834-35 from Warren Co. OH. Abraham Hill married the widow of John Chesser (1769-1804), Sarah (Hawkins) Chesser (1782-abt.1852) on the 22 March 1805 in Monongalia Co. VA. Needless to say, I would love to know if Barb Huff or anyone else has run across any other references to Alexander, William in Iowa, Isaac, or Thomas Hill in early Shelby Co. IN other than what is in the censuses. Thank you.
