My 11yr old son is reading Bears of Blue River-required reading for my Colorado born children:). There's a similar incident in the story, but it takes place around 1819. Did Charles Major use the 1890 explosion in his book or was there an earlier natural gas explosion? Sorry for the tough question, but it will be fun to research when we visit Shelbyville again.
