    1. Re: [INSHELBY] Hanover Religious History - Mary/Polly Butler Kitchell
    2. Anne, We assumed that Polly is Piercy Kitchell's widow. She is not actually living with the Stone family, but next door. I don't know if that is what you meant? No, I don't know who her parents were. You remember when we met that I still thought she was Polly Fox, widow of a Butler. Which you told me that was an error perpetuated a long time ago, and that her maiden name was Butler. Maybe someone on the list knows something abt the Butler family? Carleen

    1. Re: [INSHELBY] Fenns Station - Where is it located?
    2. Linda Chesser
    3. Take Miller Street in Shelbyville south crossing McKay Road at the High School. Continue south on the same road and it is called "Columbus Road or Pike". Fenns is on this road about 3 miles south. As reported in this space not too long ago, you will find a group of homes, an old grain elevator and grain bins, a feed store, and be able to tell where they ripped out the RR tracks that gave it the name "Station". "Fenn" was the last name of families living in the area. Parrish Cemetery is just a little further south on Columbus Road and on a hillside to the left, sometimes called Fenns Cem. ----- Original Message ----- From: <SRKMK@aol.com> To: <INSHELBY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 19, 2005 7:19 PM Subject: Re: [INSHELBY] Fenns Station - Where is it located? > > > > ==== INSHELBY Mailing List ==== > Don't forget to often check-out our website at www.rootsweb.com/~inshelby/index.htm > > History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life and brings us tidings of antiquity. > > - Cicero > > For questions regarding the list, contact me at mmweaver1864@sbcglobal.net > > Thanks! > Melinda > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection. 2. Linda Chesser
    3. Your 13 Tanners in 1870 are in Decatur Co. IN Adams P.O. The images are out of order on Ancestry and you must jump from 40/55 back to 37/55 to read the rest of the household of Franklin and Ruth E. Tanner. You are right about Julia A.Tanner being 15 in the Census, but it's not in Shelby Co. IN. Her last little brother Shannon is aged 1 (abt. 1868) and b. Illinois. Could it be that Julia A. Tanner went back to be married in Illinois or was married in Decatur Co. IN? 1. Re: [INSHELBY] Hitchcock?
    2. Larry, Don't know much about my Hitchcock great-grandmother. But I have some clues. Letha Hitchcock b. 7/18/1871 in Bartholomew county. Her parents were Joseph Marion Hitchcock and Elmira Reed. No Roscoe in her family that I know of, but There was an article in the Hope newspaper (on film at Bartholomew Co. library) mentioning that an Edward Hithcock of Shelbyville visited Hartsville on 3/15/1907. So I assume that my Hitchcocks were somehow related to some in Shelbyville. Joseph's parents were Isaac Hitchcock and Salome Clouse. Anything sound familiar? If so, we're probalby cousins. This is a line I just haven't worked on much. Diana Moore Indianapolis IN Shelby County names: Moore/Haymond/Baker/McNeeley, etc Bartholomew County names: Essex/Noah/Hitchcock/Burch, etc. Ethel Hitchcock, widow of Roscoe, died Dec. 1983. Any info will be appreciated. A distant cousin in Ohio, Larry
