    3. The 1840 census does not list names of spouses and children. I did find a marriage in Shelby County for James Conner to Jane Webb April 12, 1823. 2. Ma, Mary Thomas McKenney--daughter of Thomas and Louisa McKenney married Benjamin Franklin Faulconer---known as Frank-----in Shelby County. Frank had previously been married to Mollie Dunn who died in childbirth. I have never been able to establish exactly "who" Thomas belonged to and can find almost no info on Louisa. Thomas evidently died young and Louisa "farmed out" Mary at a fairly young age to a Dr. Petty and wife in Ky. She later came to Shelbyville with her sister ALice McKenney according to family lore. Thanks, Sheila

Here in Oklahoma, if you have the legal description of the land, you can go to the County Courhouse and look at a book that will have a listing of every document that was ever filed that pertained to that piece of land. Is there anywhere like that for Shelby Co? I have a land record showing that my John Harrell purchased 40 acres described as being the SW quarter of the SE quarter of Sec 6, Twp 11 N, Range 7 E. He purchased it in 1835. He died in 1837 and his probate records do not list any property. Is there anywhere I can write that could check that 2 year period to see who he signed the property over to before he died? According to the map I have it appears that is just SW of Lewis Creek Cemetery. I'd appreciate any information you could give me on this. Olive
