Cathy, You have lucked on to the best County GenWeb site on Rootsweb! We are very blessed by the people on this list, and except for Phyliss, I will not attempt to name them because there are too many and I would leave someone out. Carleen

This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Bi.2ADI/572 Message Board Post: I'm sooo impressed with the amount of help you all provide to people on the Shelby list...you do a WONDERFUL job! I've been following along (mostly) for a couple of weeks now... I did ask for help once and someone jumped in to help me. In the last couple of weeks - I have found that more and more of my husband's family came from that area - it seems like Rush, Shelby and Johnson Counties (I think possibly moving back and forth). I need to ask some more questions - trying to figure it all out...just wanted to get my Thanks in now - like I said, I am REALLY IMPRESSED. Hope you will be able to help me track down some of my husband's ancestors. Thanks - Cathy Pentola

Oops, she was my gr gr grandmother. Also, she wasn't a native of Hanover Township. She was a Ray, daughter of Zebedee, so she was born in the Fairland-Smithland area. Over there where all the Rays congregated, can't remember what township it is. In fact, they didn't move to Morristown until after grandpa Goodwin quit farming and then only because two of their daughters lived there. I believe that her daughter Lou Ann Smith, who had moved to Arkansas years before, was also still living when she died, so she was left out of the obit. As I well know, obits aren't always accurate even today. Jill

Yes it was Wortman by this time. Workman survived in other parts of IN, but the Shelby County gang used the t. Sarah is my gr grandmother.

Yes. Greenwood is just "down the road a piece." It is on the way to the TX line, and has the best permanent flea market, antiques, and live plant, etc., place. There is another Shelby Co. researcher that moved to the AL coast, if I can find her address. And I am kinda mixed up abt who it is. There is not much of AL that is coast, so whoever it is got hit bad. Carleen
