MONUMENT TO ENGLISH Unveiling in Honor of Former Vice Presidential Candidate [Special to The Telegram] Scottsburg, Indiana, Sept. 28-Vice President Fairbanks and John W. Kern of Indianapolis were the principal speakers at the unveiling today of the handsome monument erected here to the memory of William E. English who was the democratic nominee for vice president of the United States on the Hancock ticket in 1880. The memorial was erected at the expense of Capt. W. E. English and other descendants of the famous Indiana statesman and occupies a prominent place in the courthouse yard.
