With the holidays behind us and New Years Resolutions in the forefront I am taking this opportunity to encourage each of you to consider transcribing a Census for the very worthwhile USGENWEB Census Project. This Project is a non Profit group of volunteers dedicated to providing FREE Transcribed Census Records on the Internet at the USGENWEB Census Project page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgw/census/states.htm While I know the cost of a CD. (about $20.00) is not always possible for everyone. There are other ways of helping such as Proof Reading. Please consider helping us in the year just starting. Seeking marriage information on a possible marriage between John Carter Jr and Elizabeth Nutterfee/Nutterfield. Time span could have been between 1829 and 1833, ANYWHERE. It is probable that Eliza was previously married,( at the age of 13) in Nelson Co.,Ky, to an Andrew Pitman. John and Eliza appeared in Owen Co.,In approx 1833-1835.
I'm trying to find out WHICH George SCIFRES, out of many, many with the given Name of George, married Elizabeth LENTZ in the areas of Scott, Clark, Washington, or Jackson Counties in southern Indiana around 1876. George and Elizabeth had 3 children known to me - Susan K. SCIFRES b. 1877 married Frank BARINGER Frank SCIFRES b. 1879 married Nellie THOMAS James Alfred SCIFRES b. 1882 I have quite a lot of SCIFRES information that I would be happy to share. I've been collecting information on this surname for several years, but have been unable to figure out which George is mine. Ha Ha. Hoping that someone out there has some information or a clue. Thanks Gene Whitley [email protected]

Hello, I am the new State Coordinator for the Indiana Census Project and would like to urge each of you to consider transcribing a Census. I along with about a million other Genealogists would Thank you. Our Project was started by volunteers of The USGenWeb Project, to transcribe all of the US Federal Census' and upload them to the Internet where they will be available in a searchable archive for all, for FREE. We provide our volunteer transcribers with either a database Program, for census years 1850 and 1860, that has been written exclusively for this Project, or a spreadsheet template for all other years. Our programmer is writing updates that will eventually include all other years. For MAC users we have a Coordinator who specializes in MAC's and she will get you the templates you need. At this time we are unable to provide our transcribers with a copy of the census for the county they wish to transcribe. Each of you must obtain your own copy of the census you sign up for. You will be volunteering your time to transcribe and you will be volunteering the acquisition of the census information. This information can be acquired on CD or in book form. Please consider helping this worthwhile project. Best wishes Sandra USGENWEB Census Project Maryland State Coordinator Indiana State Coordinator Traces of the Past http//www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/7259
Hello, Wondering if anyone has any additional info on Arthur B. Bridgewater, son of Samuel and Susannah (STORM) BRIDGEWATER, and his wife Serilda SUTTON. Arthur shows on the 1850 Scott Co., IN census living in his parent's household at age 18. I'm assuming Arthur and Serilda married in Scott Co. just prior to moving to Andrew Co., MO along with Serilda's parents, Obadiah and Mary (SMITH) SUTTON in early 1856. I have located Arthur & Serilda on the Andrew Co., MO 1860 census as follows: BRIDGEWATER (mispelled as Bywater), Arthur, age 34, b. IN Zerilda, 30, IN (age is wrong here) Jackson, 4, b. MO William, 1, b MO And on the 1870 census with Arthur gone (dead?) 1870 Andrew Co., Jackson Twp., Household 86 BRIDGEWATER, Serilda, 34, IN BRIDGEWATER, Andrew J., 13, MO (Andrew Jackson) BRIDGEWATER, William J., 11, MO BRIDGEWATER, Arthur J., 6, MO Serilda (Sutton) Bridgewater remarried to George MATTOCK prior to the 1880 census: 1880 Andrew Co., Jackson Twp., Pt. 2, Household 73 MATTOCK, George, 58 MATTOCK, Sarilda, 44 BRIDGWATER, Jefferey, 16, stepson (this must be Arthur Jefferey from above) It would appear that Arthur Bridewater died sometime after Serilda conceived their last child, Arthur Jefferey Bridewater, born 1864, and that he died while living in Andrew Co., MO. BUT, Andrew Co., MO does not have a burial record for Arthur. Does Scott Co. show a burial for Arthur by chance? Obadiah Sutton also was living in Andrew Co., MO when he died in August 1865, but he is buried in Scott Co. Thought maybe Arthur was also. Thanks for any leads or direction. Teddy Noye PS. Is "Joe" still on this list please? The email address I have for him is no longer valid. Thanks.
Hi, I may be on a goose chase but I am hoping you all can help me. I live here in VA and can't get to Indiana records. My great grandfather was John Henry Seymour b. around 1850. He married Mary Angelina Smith 1855-1929 in the Guilford Forsyth county area of NC or the Lee Co. area of VA. By 1887 he was in Forsyth Co. NC where his son James Alson (Allison, Alison) Seymour was born.We have John Henry being born in Scott Co. VA. Can't find him. My Uncle when asked what was the first thing to pop into his head at the mention of John Henry Seymour said Seymour, Indiana. My Aunt looked on a map and found a Scott Co. IN close by. This could be where the Scott Co. VA idea was created. John Henry Seymour death Certificate has on it family unknown. He may have been part Native American. That is part of family tradition. We know nothing about this man. Does anyone recognise this name or is there anyone who can check on his birth certificate or census records. I would really appreciate it if someone would help me. Thank you very much. Clara _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com
