It was in The Chronicle. It says: Robert Beaver, aged 50 years, died Sunday at the family residence in this place. The remains were interred at the Scottsburg cemetery Tuesday after services by Elder Milligan. He leaves a wife, a son, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn his death. Mr. Beaver moved to this place from Eaton last October. He was a member of the Christian church. This was published in The Chronicle on April 23, 1808. So I need to find out which cemetery they referred to as the "Scottsburg cemetery" and also which church is the one they called the "Christian church". I have information that leads me to believe that my husband's great grandmother, who died in 1939 in New Albany, was buried alongside Robert Beaver. They may also have a grandson buried there as well. I'm not finding them listed in any cemetery record books so I'm afraid they don't have headstones or other markers but I thought if I could find out who the keeper of the official records of that cemetery is, I might be able to find out a location and if they don't have markers, I can at least arrange for their graves to be properly marked. Any help would be most gratefully received. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Friendship was a primitive Baptist Church, Jennings twp., Scott Co. Indiana. I would assume that he is buried here. If not here then on the land he was living on. My notes on this cemetery, are that readings were done in 1940, most stones can't be found. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Unfortunately, I cannot find out which cemetery they were buried in. I live in Harrison County, IN and am not familiar with Scottsburg at all. I went to the Floyd County Library (which is where they all lived) and they had listings from a bunch of cemeteries in Scott County. I looked through all of them page by page and couldn't find any of these folks anywhere. Does anyone have any idea where these folks might have been buried. In particular, I'm looking for Minerva Jane Wright (although she could be Dishman or Beaver) and she died in October of 1939. Her obituary says funeral was arranged by Dieckman's in New Albany and burial was "in Scottsburg". I even called Dieckman's and they looked up their records but they say that all it says is "in Scottsburg." Gah. I also can't figure out why they were buried in Scottsburg. None of them lived there EVER that I can find. They started out in Henry County Indiana and then moved down to Floyd County and then were in either Floyd or Harrison County after that. Why would they have been buried in Scottsburg? Any advice about where to look for these relatives would be most appreciated! Don't be concerned about the discrepancy in the ages of Moses and Eliza, happens all the time in the censuses. Again all born in Ky. In 1880, still in Scott county, Jennings township, Moses Ho! over was 64, a blacksmith, born in Ky and both parents in Pa, was living with his daughter Sarah and her husband Wm Trisler.
