    2. Marilynn - I had the same problem. I contacted the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis. They have an Atlas with all of the Congressional Township Maps arranged by county. I think they charge something like $2.00 a map and they will mail it to you. The Congressional Townships are different from the political townships. The Congressional Township maps are the ones to be used to see where the land plots were that the pioneers settled on. These townships NEVER change - it doesn't matter WHAT county they are in. I use these maps to track the land purchases my family members and their friends made in the early 1800s. Congress created these townships after the War of 1812 and they've been the same ever since. More info on the townships can be found at the Government Land Officer web site at: <A HREF="http://www.glorecords.blm.gov">http://www.glorecords.blm.gov</A>. In the meantime, call the Indiana State Library and explain what you want. They'll photocopy the maps from the Atlas and mail them to you. An incredibly good bargain :-) Alan McCullough
