I'm looking for the ancestry of Hezekiah Richardson. His father, Joseph Richardson, probably b. in NY in 1814 is sometimes listed as Asa Richardson, and has a different birthdate on the 1860 census. The Gershom Richardson family is living close by per this census; does anyone know the connection? 1. [Ripley Co IN] Jane in Ripley
    2. Rose Adams
    3. I am interested in anyone who had a daughter Jane in Ripley. Our Jane married a Buchanan and was widowed early leaving her to raise two sons. She was in Adams township, Ripley Co from 1830 to 1859 where her eldest son Cyrus F Buchanan married Elizabeth Jennings in 1850. Elizabeth died in 1859 and Jane, Cyrus and John moved to Indianapolis. If any of you could shine a light on this family it would be a miracle to us here in California. We have a lot of information on Cyrus and his second wofe and children. Cyrus is my husbands ggrandfather through his son John Henry Buchanan. Jane died and is buried at Crown Hill along with a son and grandson. OUr records indicate that she was born along with the two boys in PA. Since she raised them in Ripley CO, I assume she might have had family there. Rose Adams

Sheila Bear Creek "aka" St. Paul's German Lutheran Cemetery Cemetery listing by Wanda Morford done in 1980 Located in the most northern part of Switzerland County, near both Ripley and Ohio Counties. This cemetery is inaccessible most of the year. You go through the creek twice, there is a very steep, winding hill which is 6/10 of a mile up. The road base is very rough and front wheel drive is a necessity. According to the County History, St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded September 13, 1846 by Rev. Oscar Hungler. The church is gone, but at one time there was also a parsonage, when the congregation had outgrown the church, a new one was built, the old one was then used as a Lutheran school. It is surrounded by a fence. St. Paul's is not to be confused with the church and cemetery at Bear Branch, which is in Ohio County and is called St. Peter's. The oldest stone Wanda found was from 1856, but there are about 25 stones which are down or illegible. Almost all the stones are inscribed in the old German and are very hard to read. There were only five stones in English. The last burial was in 1940. Aufdenkampe Ernst H., b. Nov. 15, 1815 d. Sep. 12, 1878 Maria Louisa, geboren Stoeffer, b. May 16, 1819 d.
