I am researching my great, great grandmother's family line through the Stadtlander's of Ripley, Indiana. Would you be interested in sharing any of what you have found? My great, great grandmother was Sophia Stadtlander (Spouses were to Brinkman, Nolting and Hoffman, all of Cincinnati) She is the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Stadtlander. Ron was able to direct me to some ships logs and census info. And the city where Henry and Dora came from. Beyond that I know nothing of the Stadtlander family. Anyways, that is my connection. I am working on researching the Merrick/Funkhouser family right now, but I would be glad to share what I have with you. This family moved around some, and in fact were found in two different censuses in 1850, one in Jackson, Ripley, Indiana with Mary Funkhouser's family, and one in Aurora, Dearborn, Indiana with who I am assuming were William Merrick's parents and siblings. (I still need to check on that) I know some of William and Mary's children were born in Indiana, some were born in Iowa, and some were born in Illinois. Like I said, I am still working on this family, b! ut I would love to collaborate and share what I have! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Just wanted to tell you the Ripley County INGenWeb website is currently not visible. The entire INGenWeb.org domain was forced to change to a new server, and it will take awhile to get all the county websites working again. We're working really hard on this, and I think (if all goes as planned) I should have the Ripley County site fixed sometime early this weekend. I'm waiting to get access to the site, as well as you are. Stay tuned! I'll send another message when I have it done. (P.S. Now would be a great time to send me your photos, stories, family histories and anything else you'd like to share on the site. I welcome suggestions for things that could be added, too!) I am looking for any information I can find out about them or the other Picket children with them. I believe Almira is the Almira Burns who married James Picket 1838 in Ripley Co, In. She is not there in 1850 but is back there by herself in 1860. Ashours was born in Iowa in 1848. Did James Picket die in Lee Co c 1850s? Amira appears to be the daughter of Thomas and Catherine Burns who disappear after the late 1840s in Ripley Co. Did Catherine die and Thomas marry this Phebe? She shows up back in Ripley Co in 1860 with children Virgil and Resaurs (too young to be hers) but no husband. Did Thomas die in Lee Co? Does anyone have any information on any of these names?
