    1. [INRipley] Doll, Schlicht & Kanper
    2. Yesterday I found an Elizabeth Herzog married 7 Jul 1852 in Ripley Co to Joseph Doll. I found them in the 1860 Ripley Co Census, but so far I haven't found them in the 1870 Census. Joseph was listed as a widow in 1880. In the 1860 Census children, all born in In, listed were: Joseph abt 1854 Catherine abt 1856 Anthony abt 1858 Mary A abt 1860 (In 1880 there was an Annie, 19, listed) I also found Mary Hetzog (I think this should be Herzog) married 2 Apr 1857 to John Doll. I found John in the 1880 Ripley Co Census listed as a widow with the following children all born in IN: Bernhard abt 1858 William abt 1765 Caroline abt 1870 Mary abt 1872 John abt 1874 I believe Elizabeth and Mary are sisters and are the two Herzog sisters I've been looking for. I also found a Catherine Doll married 1 Oct 1875 to William Kanper and Annie Doll married 23 Jun 1880 to Joseph Schlicht. I've ordered a copy of all of these marriage licenses. Is anyone else researching any of this family? Thank you, Sandi Whitty

I BELIEVE, but am by no means sure that Henry Caplinger, Father of Elvira or Algive, and Samuel Caplinger may be brothers. Can you prove or disprove that theory? All I have is an 1843 marriage between Henry Caplinger and Jane Deal. Henry's Father said to be Jake (poss. Jacob) Caplinger. All of this came from a distant family member without sources so I am in the verification mode. Can I get a photocopy of the Kelly marriage record from you? If you are with Ripley Hist. Society there is already mail on the way from me for another line!

I think Elvira was born around 1850. Any help appreciated.
