But I don't have anything at all in a Sadden/Soddenwasser related to the family. I've been able to track a descendant that went to Nebraska...but everyone else stayed in Indiana or Illinois (that I know of). What names do you have? I know that the Geiger family used VERY common German names...so it's probably just a coincidence, unless your Geigers were in Ripley County and/or Indiana (the first generation spread throughout the midwest). Also, I doubt you'd have photos of the names I mentioned, as they were born 1825-1870's. I do know photos exist of a few of the later generation, but they're in Ripley County. Did you grandmother live in Ripley? Do you know what church she might have attended? (our family attended the German Evangelical Lutheran Church at Crossroads, near Batesville, also known as St. Paul's). But I'm sorry I don't have anything with the Soddenwasser name. I've researched cemeteries, birth records, etc...and can't say I've ever come across it at all. Was it German? Ripley County was a big area for Germans to settle. Thanks, Brenda Geiger

The Thomas I am looking for is not related to me as far as I know but in my ggg-grandmother's obit. she said that her father, James Jones was murdered by him at a town meeting near Holton, IN. (Ripley Co) around 1830. The spelling for this Thomas is either Hudson or Hutson. I have looked in all of the newspapers in that area with no luck. I am wondering what & how it happened. They are listed in the courthouse in Jefferson Co., Indiana in a dispute concerning certain work & labor & the raising of a crop during the year of 1815 in the Jeffersonville district and known then as Mount Tibbles. If you are aware of this dispute please notify me at: casu01@aol.com Thank you, Carolyn Cowan Oberle
Al, Thanks for the response but the "parents records" are the source of the problem as they are in Germany. The kids came to America together in their early 20's but the parents stayed put in Germany. One elderly lady who has been researching the family swears that she found the family's records in Germany and there were 5 kids. I have a genealogical family tree that I just found in my mother's papers that was put together in 1953 which calls out 4 kids in the Ripley-to-Cincinnati area. The kicker is that 2 of the siblings of John Henry Harves that I have do not match the names that this lady has. Hence the reason for the posting - to find out if I can connect with either an Owens or King researcher in Ripley Co. If not, I will work the county/church marriage records. Rik Hill "Alfred J. Jennette - It's simple. Buy an American Express Money Order in U.S. Dollars. They'll do the conversion rate for you at your bank. Exchange rates are probably posted on a daily basis.
