(I didn't know there were two townships in the county with the name 'river' in them.) According to my research, Jane was actually 65 years old in 1870, and William, her second husband, was almost 57 when the census was taken. (His birthday was in October, 1813.) The girl Alice living with them was the youngest daughter from Jane's first marriage, to a fellow named Henry Brown, and her last name was actually Brown. P.S.
