    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: audreybmorris Surnames: Classification: pension Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.randolph/3346/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Please excuse the long message. Lots of Randolph Co names here! I have noted the years and why their names appear as best I could. Some names are somewhat illegible in my copy. The following names appear in the Civil War pension application of John M COLLETT. John M COLLETT served with the 100th IN regiment. He was severely wounded at Missionary Ridge. He was born 23 Apr 1842 in Warren Co., OH, to Presley COLLETT (1812-1868) and Permelia LEONARD (1810-1877). On 31 Mar 1864 in Jay Co., IN, he married Cynthia Ann WHITENACK (1843-1926), a daughter of Isaac WHITENACK (1817-1894) and Mariah Louisa COLLINS (1820-1902). He spent over 30 years battling for pension raises, right up until his death, due to leg and eye injuries. Before the war, he had been a farmer. After, he moved into town and was a grain dealer and a RR agent. He and Cynthia had 11 children (most of the middle names come from the pension application): Ida Elnora, Permelia Louisa, Florence Rebecca, Jasper Ervin, Isaac Newton, Lily May, Charles Presley, William Everett (my line), Joseph Earl, John Leonard, James G. [Gillaspie] Blaine. Six of his seven sons moved to Chicago. John M COLLETT wa! s my gggrandfather. Many of these names have signatures and statements to go with them.
