I have an ancestor named Peter Poorman. He was born in PA, died in 1830. Though I don't have his birth date, he had at least two children, born in 1810 and 1815, so he would be of an appropriate age. The kids were born in Bedford Co, PA. Peter was married to Elizabeth Shaffer. They had a son named John C. (perhaps Clement) and he did live in Randolph Co. He married Lucy Ann Brooks, and they lived near Saratoga, IN. Notes I have on him included: Around 1816 John moved with his father to Richland Co, OH, where he grew to manhood. He met Lucy Brooks there, married her in 1837, and moved to Randolph County, IN in 1838. Lucy died in 1875. On January 7, 1877 he married Mrs. Mary Anderson. The 1882 County History book states John "was never a hunter". CENSUS: 1850 - John Poorman, age 35, farmer, and Lucy, age 23 - Jackson Twp, Randolph Co, IN - children Henry 11, George W. 7, Margaret J. 4, Emaretta 2 1870 - John and Lucy Poorman, children John, Martha, James 1880 - John and second wife Mary (Anderson) - Ward Twp, Randolph Co, IN Do you think we might have the same guy?
