Dear Phillips Researchers, What: Impromptu Phillips and Related Families Researchers Gathering Where: Jay County Society Building; 109 South Commerce Street Portland, Indiana (206) 726-4323 jaycogen@jayco.net When: Saturday, May 17, 2008. 9:30 a.m. Why: To meet "long lost relations" and, hopefully, further enhance our research by sharing. Details: We will have access to the Jay County Genealogical Societies' records. Copies cost 10 cents. There is a sandwich shop next door if you do not wish to bring a brown bag lunch. There are other events taking place in the county during the week so motel reservations (if needed) ahead of time would be a good idea. Some known family ties are: Lewis Phillips b. 1793 m. (1) Elizabeth Gift b. 1794 (2) Christina Robbins b. 1805. Children: Philip, John, Jacob, David, <Elizabeth or Catherine>?,< J.M.>?, Jonas, Mordicai, and Elias. This family started in Preble, Ohio and most of them migrated to Jay and Randolph, IN.
