    3. There are old school records at the museum, but I don't have any idea of the years covered within that cabinet. I know that there is also a teacher's licsencing/grade book for those that took a test to become teachers as well. If he was born before 1882, then there will be no birth record. The only thing you would be able to find if lucky, would be a family bible with his date of birth or a doctor's notes. Not many doctor's records are around though. Or as you are wanting, the school enrollment records, that I have seen from the 1920s, list the child's name, age and parent, and sometimes what the parent does for a living. You will need to call the museum to find out more. 765-584-1334. Andrea -----Original Message----- Does anyone out there know how I can retrieve school records from 1870-1880 would it be the town? Or would the records be sent to the county someplace? The person I am tracking is William Henry Brown age 1880 census -age 9 My Grandfather; his birth records should be in Randolph County. His death certificate Stated he was born 3 Nov 1868, but that could be untrue. He died in the state of California in 1934 under the name of William Henry Bryant.

    3. Thank you Andrea, I will have to check the museum he would have been in school 1880-to 1885 before that I have no idea where to check. I will look around for Doctors for notes, maybe church records. Again thank you. Do you know if the Orphan Train stopped there anyplace?
