Mr Hobbick is a native of this county, and was born May 13, 1840, in White River Township. His parents were Christian and Christina Hobbick, natives of Germany. He was brought up a farmer boy, and educated in the common schools, and the Winchester High School. He enlisted in the late war, but was pronounced physically unable by the examining physicaian, and was refused. He was married, February 1863, to Miss Mary Hounour, daugher of Matthias Hounour. She was born also in this county. They have 5 children ~ Charley, Emma, Bruce, William and Catherine. Mr H. owns 114 acres of valuable land, and is engaged in farming on Section 25, White River Township.
