Is anyone on the list working on the Bates Families of IN or RCI? Many were pastors of Methodist churches from Union City to Ill and OH, specifically Henry Bates in Union City, Geroge and William. I am a descendant of John Bates. He came to RCI, but went back to Darke OH to become a frontier minister, but was killed by a falling tree and surgery prior in 1842. His brother (or cousins) ran merchantile businesses in RCI. Some of the next generation wiped out, unfortunately, early by TB, but I may have cousins I do not know. Lorene
