The Gazette was published in the 1937 - 1939 time frame. The Evening Times was published in the 1934 - May 1939 time frame. The Gazette merged with the Evening Times in April 1939 The Times-Gazette was published from the above time until at least June 1968 That was the end of the newspapers for Union City, Indiana. There were some earlier newspaper publishing that occurred on the Ohio side of the town. Whether any of those papers were preserved by Darke Co. or the Ohio Historical Society is unknown. The above are the only known Union City, Indiana newspapers available on microfilm from the Indiana Historical Society. Tucker's History of Randolph Co. identifies other earlier newspapers including the Times being published in Union City, however. There were newspapers published in Farmland and also Winchester that were published much earlier in time that are available on microfilm.. Billy
