    2. Lindsey, I am on another list and this was discussed there.  Here is the original letter and reply from the list administrator.  Hopefully this explains the problem for you Joyce Dear List Administrator, I have not received any mail from the rootsweb mail list for the past several days.  I called the AOL Postmaster at 1-888-212-5537 to find out why this was happening.  They told me that because of a flood of complaints from AOL members that they, the AOL members were receiving so much spam with their mailing list email, AOL shut down all the email going to AOL members.  I was not one of the ones who complained and I have not had any problems with receiving spam with my rootsweb mail lists, I knew nothing about this. The AOL Postmaster told me that the only way this problem could be solved was that each List Administrator must contact the AOL Postmaster at the this phone number 1-888-212-5537 in order to solve this problem.  Until the List Administrator straightens out the problem none of us who belong to AOL will receive the rootsweb mail. So please List Administrators call the above number and straighten out this mess. AND THE RESPONSE FROM THE LIST ADMINSTRATOR-- Rootsweb is aware that AOL is, indeed, blocking mail.  The folks at Rootsweb are working with AOL to correct this problem. Your patience is appreciated.    You might also check the archives to view any mail you might have missed

    3. Based on my recent personal experience I would highly recommend that you drop AOL ASAP and switch to anybody else. They are quite proficient at arbitrarily making decisions like the one you describe. Also, If you do drop AOL make sure you keep the letter they send you in the mail. After I had dropped them I started getting billed again about two months later and the only thing they'll accept as proof is the letter they sent. When I contacted my bank about these charges they told me they get similar complaints about AOL almost daily basis. -----Original Message----- From: LAFinken@aol.com [mailto:LAFinken@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 4:58 PM To: INRANDOL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [INRANDOL] message board problems this is what I was given to explain Lindsey, I am on another list and this was discussed there.
