Beech Grove was Chartered in 1841 with one and one half acres on the banks of White River, it has grown to 100 acres. According to the Delaware County Directory to Cemeteries that the DC Historical Alliance published, Beech Grove also was an old Indian Burial Ground, (Beech Knoll) There were about 4 other small burial plots that were moved to Beech Grove. The book mentions that some graves were found when the city was having sidewalks put in, and those bodies were also moved to Beech Grove. As for research, I was told that their records will not be online. But you can request a look up from the Friends of Beech Grove Cemetery 1400 W. Kilgore Ave. Muncie, Indiana 47305 1-765-741-1352 www.beechgrovecemetery.com They don't charge fees, but would like for people to make donations for services rendered. Gina
