All indications point to John B Wright coming from a Quaker background. This would be consistent with your data. I show he was the son of John Wright & Phebe Barrett, who were married at Hopewell MM, Frederick co,VA on 11 Feb 1773. These are the notes in my Stanfield Database on John B Wright: -Census of 1850, 21st District, Vermilion co,IL; #304 (Farmer,64) indexed as John Knight -County Judge & Member of Illinois Legislature -Hopewell MM, Frederick co,VA on 4 May 1807 John, son of John Wright, reported for civil marr.(mcd); retained in membership -Hopewell MM on 1 Feb 1808 John granted certificate to Miami MM,OH -Fairfield MM, Highland co,OH 30 Jul 1808 John received on certificate from Hopewell MM,VA dated 1 Feb 1808; [endorsed by Miami MM,OH] -Fairfield MM on 25 Jan 1817 John granted certificate to New Garden MM,IN -Cherry Grove MM set off from New Garden MM,IN in 1821 -White River MM set off from Cherry Grove MM,IN in 1824 -Vermilion MM, Vermilion co,IL on 2 Oct 1830 John B received on certificate from White River MM,IN -Vermilion MM on 1 Jun 1831 John B complained of; White River MM, Randolph co,IN requests Vermilion MM,IL to treat with him for civil marr.(mcd); on 2 Jul 1831 John B complained of for civil marr.(mcd) by Elwood PM; disowned On 24 Feb 1831, Vermilion co,IL he married Mrs Anna (Freese) Stanfield, widow of Nathaniel Stanfield (c1795-c1829). She was born ca.1793 probably Rowan co,NC; dau of Jacob Freese & Catherine Siechler. She 1st married Nathaniel Stanfield on 30 Oct 1816, Greene co,TN. Anna Stanfield is mentioned as a dau in the Will of Jacob Freese, proved 29 Jul 1817, Greene co,TN. Nathaniel Stanfield was a son of the Quakers Samuel Stanfield and Lydia Vernon. Nathaniel along with 4 of his brothers, John, Thomas, and Samuel Stanfield, were part of the Quaker migration from Greene co,TN to Vermilion co,IL that occurred in 1828. Anna (Freese) Stanfield appears as a widowed head of household in Census of 1830, Vermilion co,IL, p.108A.
